Recently, an opportunity arose for Peugeot to bring its penchant for quality and innovation to a family of wine products. Since then, Peugeot has offered a wide range of corkscrews, specialized decanters, tasting glasses and service accessories to wine aficionados worldwide. Melchior is Peugeot’s innovative new sommelier-type corkscrew. Its design takes advantage of a double axis rotation, allowing the cork to be removed in one single motion without having to reposition the lever. To use, remove the foil from the wine bottle top using the integrated foil cutter. Twist the helix fully into the cork, without penetrating the cork bottom. Position the lever onto the bottle lip, securing and holding the notch in place, then lift the corkscrew handle to remove the cork. The cork is removed rapidly, with less effort than other corkscrews of similar design. Melchior features an ergonomic grip with soft touch accents; and a high-end, contemporary finish. Design works well with all types of bottles, and folds compact for easy apron, pocket or drawer storage.
